Petroglyphs are pictures carved into living stone. They are one of the oldest forms of human expression. Hawaiian petroglyphs are usually found in special sites that have been added to over hundreds of years. These figures can still be seen in the lava fields of  these islands where they were carved by the original Hawaiian artists.
